INFORMATION | BIOGRAPHY

Piper Lisa Perabo (named after classic actress, Piper Laurie) was born on October 31, 1976 in Dallas, Texas to Portuguese father, George William Perabo and Norwegian American mother, Mary Charlottle Ulland. Later, her 2 brothers Noah and Adam as well as mother and father would move to Toms River, New Jersey where they would be raised. Piper attended Toms River High School North. While there, she appeared in all four yearly musicals. Her seniour year, she was Katie in "Meet Me In St. Lous"; junior year, Cousin Fan in "Mame"; sophomore year, Lady Brighton in "Me and My Girl"; and freshman year, a dancer in "How To Suceed in Business Without Really Trying." Piper was also president of the National Honor Society and the editor of the school literary magazine, Polaris. In addition, she was a Marinerette, which are the dancers of High School North's colorguard. In 2007, she would later visit her old high school to see "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying".

Soon after, Piper attended college of choice Ohio University's Honors Tutorial College and graduated in 1998 with a BFA in theatre. After graduating from OU, Piper studied acting at the LaMama Theatre in New York. While there she performed two plays, with only small roles. Until her time of discovery, Piper was a waitress in an upscale New York City resturant.

The year 2000 became a defining year for Piper when she was cast as FBI agent Karen Sympathy in The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle. Soon after, PIper was cast as the lead in what would be a blockbuster hit, Coyote Ugly. Playing Violet Sanford aka "Jersey", the struggling songwriter who temps at a bar named Coyote Ugly would be her break-out role. Piper had to take lessions in voice, guitar, piano and bartending to prepare for the role. Despite the movie doing poorly with the critics, it was a modest box-office success, grossing $61 million in the U.S alone. Her work in the film would be recognized by MTV Movie Awards when she was nominated for Best Music Moment for her performance of "One Way or Another."

In 2001, she starred in an independent Canadian film called Lost and Delirious, playing a boarding school student who begins a relationship with her female roomate. The film didn't gain much box office buzz, but would become a favorite to lots of Perabo fans. The following year, she played the role of Genevieve Le Plouff, an exchange student from France in Slap Her.. She's French. It was shelved for 2 years with that name but later recalled as She Gets What She Wants. The film was released under it's original title in Europe.

In 2003 she was cast as the eldest sibling Nora Baker in Cheaper by the Dozen, a fun family film about 2 parents struggling to make their family of 12 children work after they decide to move away. She would later reprise the role in 2005's Cheaper by the Dozen 2.

Perabo would later make her splash in a number of other films. In 2004 she played opposite James Purefoy and Patrick Swayze in "George and the Dragon". Lena Headey and Piper Perabo both appeared opposite eachother in The Cave and Imagine Me & You. Piper and Lena dabbled with thrillers in The Cave, playing Charlie, a explorer who unearths a mysterious creature in a hidden cave. 2005Ős Imagine Me & You took place in England, which followed Rachel (Piper's character) as she strugled with her feelings for new found friend, Luce (Lena Headey). Her most recent work to date has been Mae in Because I Said So; Bettina in Ashes and most recently, her guest appearance on hit tv show House as Honey.

With all this fame, Piper still stays grounded. She enjoys classical music and literature. Another favorite is fishing, and she often chow's down on what she catches. To this day, Lena Headey and Piper remain close friends.
