Tom: You soaked his underwear in meat. That is so wrong. Funny, but wrong.
Tina Shenk: Is Jake your only child?
Kate: Oh no. We have 12.
Tom I couldn't keep her off of me.
Charlie: Did I mention I don't like you very much?
Tom: Yeah, you mentioned that.
Charlie: Then I'm good.
Hank: It's gettin' so as I can hardly go out in public any more. I mean, really, between the autograph hounds and the paparazzi...
Kate: Autographs and everything? I mean, just the one commercial, and you have paparazzi?
Hank: Yeah. I've never actually seen them, but, you know, they hide in the bush and... they get their shot.
Jake: Dude, two words: need new skates.
Kate: Dude, three words: paper route.
Nora: Oh honey, there just welcoming you into the family.
Hank: They set me on fire.
Nora: Just your pants.
Nora: Did you not hear me? My brother is missing!
Hank: Did you not hear me? I'm on TV!

Based on the real life Gilbreth family. The name Gilbreth appears several times throughout the film: Nora says that it's her grandmother's name when the kids are playing the game with the apples; it's Kate's maiden name according to her yearbook; it's Kate's maiden name according to the dust jacket of her book.
The part where the twins dump the whole entire bag of dog food wasn't in the script - the twins made it up.
Director Cameo: ['Shawn Levy' ] the reporter who asks Tom for a quote.
When Hank (Ashton Kutcher) gestures to his face ("This is the moneymaker!"), the motion he makes is the American Sign Language sign for "beautiful".
Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt, playing the parents of 12 children, have zero children between them in real life.
SPOILER: At the end of the movie, Kate reveals the title of her new book to be "Cheaper By The Dozen". Although this movie is loosely based on a book by that title about a real-life family, the book was written by the *son* of the family, Frank B. Gilbreth Jr. with his sister, Ernestine Gilbreth Carey.
